There are many stories of Lord Krishna that we have grown up watching on television. Krishna’s life is divided in 2 distinct phases- stories of his birth and his childhood years and Krishna’s life as an adult...as a ruler. Up until now, the stories we have been exposed to the most are that of Krishna’s life as a child- how he was carried by his father all the way to Nandgram the day he was born in the middle of the night....his charming childhood pranks with his step mother Yashodha... how he miraculously was able to defeat the great demon Kansa and went on to become the crowned king of Dwarka. Apart from that the stories that have made Him famous are of his legendary romance with Radha, and him as Arjun’s Charioteer in the battle of Kurukshetra, which is an integral part of the Mahabharta. It is his wise words at the battlefield which was to become the Bhhagvad Gita in later years.
But these are not the only stories to be told.
What of the life of Krishna the king...The ruler. There are myriad stories of Krishna the warrior- the one who defeated the evil Jarasandha 16 times and brought the demonic Shishupal to justice; the valiant lover- who whisked away his beloved Rukmini from right under the nose of her brother, his Arch enemy Rukmi, the great ruler who saved his people from the evil clutches of Jarasandh; and the loyal brother- who got his sister Shubhadra married to the brave and deserving warrior Arjun.
These are all stories we have all grown up listening to, in folklores and children’s tales but they have never really been explored on television. In fact the only glimpse of the adult Krishna that we have viewed on television is as a part of the larger story of Mahabharata, but that too usually from the perspective of other primary characters in that story.
If you ask the common man if he knows of the Lord’s name as Ranchhod- he would immediately say yes. But what is the story behind this name? What is the tale behind it? That is something only a few would know of...that is if they have read about it in their childhood years. This is what we will attempt to revive through our show. These are the tales we want to tell. Our show is not going to project the much told tales of Kans Vadh or Krishna – Radha Romance. Neither will the show cover cute, childish, aspect of Krishna’s personality. It will largely cover Krishna’s life as a ruler of Dwarka and his life journey post he defeated Kans.
In the pantheon of Hindu Gods, Krishna is the one who’s purpose was to preach to humankind how to survive in the age of evil or Kalyug. His divinity and godliness was not bereft of sharp wit, a Machiavellian mind and a keen understanding of human psyche. He was in many ways the epitome of the ideal man today- a hero in the eyes of children, the ideal lover for young girls, a friend, philosopher and guide for men....and a son that every mother would want to have. And he truly believed in doing what is right, irrespective of means necessary to achieve it. And this aspect of the Lord comes through most clearly in the unexplored part of his life- his young adulthood. And this why we believe this story must be told.
We truly believe the story of Lord Krishna’s life journey as an adult will resonate in the hearts of the viewer. They are stories which have great relevance in people’s lives today, as each tale offers a life lesson, one through which we can learn to lead better lives, fight our battles within the home and outside better, and learn to be better human beings. The show does not aim to preach. But we believe in watching these stories people that project Lord Krishna’s philosophies we will in many ways set an example for the way of life in today’s day and age.

Paanchjanya Shankh belongs to Vishnu or Krishn. It is believed that Panchjan Daitya lived in this Shankh and when Krishn killed him, to bring His Guru's dead son back, He brought that Shankh also with Him. And this is the Shankh that Krishn blew declaring the Mahabharata war on.
