Mumbai, February 10, 2009:  This February, NDTV Imagine salutes the all enduring Woman- the binding force of every Indian family with two riveting shows, Jyoti and Dehleez, highlighting different aspects of her life.  She is an obedient daughter, a caring sister, a trustworthy friend, a loyal wife and a loving mother. The lead protagonists of these shows are two such women who will represent all these roles but face resentment from their families at every stage of their life. NDTV Imagine traces their journey through two emotive back-to-back sagas – Jyoti & Dehleez hitting your TV screens from February 16^th, Monday – Thursday at 8.30 pm and at 9.00 pm respectively.

Jyoti, will trace the journey of a young woman Jyoti the eldest of the three daughters and the sole bread winner of the family who sacrifices her dreams and aspirations to fulfil every need of her family. Jyoti gracefully faces all obstacles and does everything and more than any son could ever do. Inspite of disturbing incidents, Jyoti strives forward with her undying positive attitude and continues to shine, yielding light to the people around her. This is the story of Jyoti… in today’s liberated world.  This saga of a woman will see Sneha Wagh as the spirited Jyoti along with Sriti Jha, Sanjay Batra and Zaida Parveen among others. The story has been written by the noted writer Purnendu Shekhar and will be directed by Siddharth Sengupta. The show is produced by Sunjoy Waddhwa of Sphere Origins.

‘Dehleez’ is a story of a young happily married girl, Indu, who has to step beyond the boundaries of her home to earn a living for the sake of her husband Arjun. The essence of the story is the struggle and the courage of a common working woman to keep her marriage together while being faced with resistance from her own family as well as the society.Dehleez is produced by Manish Goswami’s Siddhant Cinevision and will see a mix of new and popular faces. The main protagonist Indu is portrayed by Preeti Gandwani, alongside a cast of other brilliant actors like Bhuvnesh Mam, Rakesh Pandey, Savita Prabhune and Preeti Sahay amongst others. The story has been written by the noted writer Mir Munneer and will be directed by Tamna P Nedungadi.
